  • Chinese new year ... what's new? It's the same old routine every single year, from this house to this house to this house to this house, nothing ever changes. Not that it's a bad thing though, but it's not a good thing either.

Chinese new year is money, angbaos, bahkwa, kueh bangkit, tiger beer, steamboat and lots of familiar faces - This year was no exception. Only .. one thing, actually a very big thing, I haven't gambled at all ever since the new year started! Yeah, I know it's a very big thing i'm missing out since CNY is all about blackjack, daidee and all that shizzles but lately, I don't know why but it just doesn't intrigue me anymore, don't know why either. But I'm up for mahjong anytime. I really suck at card games so it's mahjong all the way for me (although I haven't played a game at all during CNY). Instead of card games/mahjong, my hands/fingers are really itching for a game of L4D2 ... what a geek i know!

In a nutshell, first day was waking up at an ungodly hour of 7am, grandfather's house, temple, rifle range road, grandmother's house and then finally back home. Second day was 7am again, temple again, ancestral hall, kim keat road and Nicki's house for dinner and then back home. Third day was (supposed to be) 7am again but in the end I woke up at 11, and then headed to aunt's place for lunch.

    Pom!

What a cute dog right? Pom's 5 months old and he's really active ... kept on humping and humping, was really quite awkward because I'm not really close to my second-cousin who owns him so yeah. In fact, I think throughout my entire life I've spoken less than 10 sentences to him and his family.

That aside, this chinese new year has been really tiring and taxing ... I mean there's not much changes to the yearly routine of visiting but it must be because of the lack of sleep + school + growing old so, stamina not very good. I think by next year I would have aged alot too sigh. Old age is a disease! Oh, and the weather's not helping as well. Always during chinese new year period, the sun would be so scorching hot and the weather would be so humid, at the end of the day, taking like 5 showers won't help too. Always end up sticky/sweaty and angsty.

Exams next week so I guess I better start studying soon. Just spent 2 hours in front of my printer printing my notes and somehow, seeing those clean, freshly printed notes really make me feel like studying .. I know, I'm weird like that but look on the bright side, at least I feel like studying and I'm really motivated to study.
